Hi! I’m Freja, and I’m so excited to have you here. I feel most in my element when I get to tell other people’s stories. Photography is my way of connecting—with people, emotion, myself and the world around me. I first picked up a camera when I was twelve, and it instantly became a natural extension of how I express myself. I remember lying on the lawn as a young teen, photographing butterflies and bugs. There was something both exciting and grounding about it—it made me fully present, curious, and more appreciative of my surroundings.
Over the years, I’ve explored many genres—from rock concerts to corporate headshots—but I’ve always found myself drawn back to nature and the naked body. I grew up in a family where nudity was seen as something natural, and early on I began photographing friends and family nude in the woods and by the lakes in southern Sweden. It was playful and fun!
Nature and our bodies are two of the most fundamental aspects of life—simple and complex at once. I’ve spent years trying to understand why they're so mesmerizing to me. Is it the rawness? The vulnerability? The beauty? Maybe it’s all of it. What I do know is that this keeps inspiring me endlessly. Photographing it gives me meaning and makes me feel so fulfilled, and that's everything I can ask for and more.
I also have a background as a queer activist, and photography has been a powerful tool for me in this field. As an advocate for queer rights, I've met all kinds of people and have a deep fascination with human connection and identity. I'm inspired by individuality, and my photos are a space where everyone belongs.
Besides photography, I love listening to the Swedish podcasters Alex & Sigge, thrifting, spending time in nature, and just enjoying slow days at home—cooking, hosting game nights, and being with friends.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better. Now I can't wait to get to know you!
